Mckinac Island-Part 2

Ok,I am finally getting around to posting this long awaited post...There is an 8 mile bike trail around the island.....and...we did it!!!! We thought it was quite an accomplishment!! and it was for our family. It took us about 4 hours and that was with various stops for lunch, rest stops and of-course to take in the breathtaking scenery around us... :)
So,this is is..The Bike Ride

Beautiful scenery along the way

There were people on top of that HUGE rock....

Lunch time!!!!
There were a lot of rock cairins along the beach. For those of you that do not know what they are (don't worry I had no idea either until Dad explained!!).They are small mounds of stones and pebbles built to mark biking and hiking trails,as a memorial to having been somewhere. It is traditional for each person passing by a cairin to add a stone. (info from Mackinac Island brochure)
Leanna did a few..

We stopped along the trail at a beach along Lake Michigan to take some pictures...and to dip our feet in the lake!!!

You can just see the look of excitement on his face...

It was COLD!!!! :(
Sadly,Gracie fell in and got wet...not too much, tho'!!!
Mark Allen and Jason fell in too but didn't mind it that much :)
Then it was picture time...
There was a very friendly couple there too so we asked them to take a family picture..

Does anybody know why this picture would look that grainy?? Feed-back would be appreciated

Sweet Daddy Love!!! <3

Timothy biked the whole 8 miles alone without any complaining...We were all proud of him and he was too!!
He really deserved this t-shirt!!!
Mom had a 3-wheeler

Jason and Gracie were riding in a little stroller towed by Daddy
2 miles to go-almost there

There were sea-gulls everywhere....even in the streets
Before we left the island we got some drinks from Starbucks.Jonathan ordered an ice-coffee.When he got it he found out that all it was,was coffee and ice cubes!!!! He was kind of disappointed but just dumped some out and added milk to it. We had a good laugh over that one!!!
Jason and Gracie conked out...
Ice-cream cones..
We heard that Mackinac is greatly known for its fudge so of-course we had to get some too!!

Waiting for the ferry....to go back to our cottage!!!
We,that is it...Mackinac Island-Part 2.It was a Wonderful Day!!! I would recommend this too anybody.
Hope you are all having a great day!!!
